Key cutting in Canada
Spare keys cut from your original, including restricted profiles a kiosk cannot copy. Pick a city to see what each business states it charges, and when it last said so.
Cities
The cheapest thing a locksmith does, and the one where the shop matters most. A key cut on a worn machine from a copy of a copy will work today and stick in six months. A shop that cuts from your original rather than a duplicate, and tests it before you leave, is worth the short walk.
Restricted and patented keyways are a separate matter. These cannot legally be copied without authorisation from the key system holder, which is the point of them. If a key is stamped do not duplicate, expect to show paperwork.
Hardware store kiosks handle ordinary house keys at a lower price. For anything with a chip, an unusual profile, or a restricted stamp, a locksmith is the answer.
